About Steve McLaughlin FT Partners

Executive Steve McLaughlin leads Financial Technology Partners LP as its Managing Partner and founder. In this role, he serves the strategic and financial advisory needs of clients in the financial technology industry, assisting companies such as Lynk Systems, Inc.; Custom House Ltd.; and Yapstone as they look for potential buyers and strategic investors. Steve McLaughlin and his associates at Financial Technology Partners also handle mergers and private equity transactions and offer fairness opinions on a variety of financial matters. 

Prior to embarking on his career in investment banking, Steve McLaughlin studied finance at Villanova University, graduating with his Bachelor’s in Business Administration. He then joined General Electric’s Financial Management Program and earned a promotion to the company’s prestigious Corporate Audit Staff for his excellent business and financial skills. After three years with GE, he returned to academia at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, where he earned a Master of Business Administration. While still a student at the Wharton School, he began his career at Goldman Sachs & Co. as Head of the Global Financial Technology Group in Investment Banking, a position he held for eight years. Steve McLaughlin established Financial Technology Partners in 2002. 

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. McLaughlin supports a number of community institutions regardless of religious affiliation, such as Old Saint Mary’s Cathedral in San Francisco; the Little Sisters of the Assumption Family Health Service; the Bay Area Holocaust Oral History Project; and Jewish Family and Children’s Services of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties. He has also contributed to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society; the Metropolitan Museum of Art; and Chai Lifeline, an organization that provides nonmedical services to children with serious illnesses.
